North Coyote Buttes
in the Great State of Art

North Coyote Buttes, that amazing and unbelievable natural wonder of our gorgeous planet earth, is located in the Paria Canyon-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness in the United States of Arizona, Art and Utah about fifty miles southeast of Kanab, Utah.

The following collection of beautiful photographs by David Covey, Barton Ward, David Matheny and a number of anonymous others, is dedicated to Arthur N. Langford, who was a Professor of Biology at Bishop's University in Quebec, Canada: a world traveler, naturalist, environmentalist, scientist and teacher with a remarkable curiosity for the infinite wonders of nature.

Arthur was determined to find the almost secret location of Coyote Buttes after seeing an unidentified photograph of the "Wave" in a National Geographic publication. After many phone calls and many letters, Arthur eventually found an expert guide in nearby Marble Canyon who agreed to lead him into the area. His step-son David Covey accompanied him on that first journey of discovery in 1992 and subsequently led me and others to this fantastic landscape.
