to listen to, but visually
to look at on the wall, transformed in little ways with visual connections, mounted on stretched canvas and designed to spin like an old 78 rpm record turning on a Victor Talking Machine Company Victrola with a bamboo needle.*
This is a collaborative project with Russell Baldwin (1933-2007), who collected the original picture discs, and me. If you are interested in buying one, please contact Bob thru the 'contact' link on his home page.
Everything you ever wanted to know about unusual types of gramophone records can be found @: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picture_disc#Picture_discs and http://www.vinylunderground.net/article.html.
* the picture disc montage additions you see in this collection can be removed without damage to the original disc. the prices vary depending on the retail value of each disc. There are other discs in the estate which have not been altered.
